We’re thrilled to share Werner, one of the nation’s largest transportation and logistics companies, has selected Augment to power its AI initiative following a successful pilot.

Werner's customers tender hundreds of thousands of annual loads. Before Augie, a Werner rep typed each tender into the transportation management system (TMS) by hand, and each tender might carry twelve loads or more. A single mistyped reference number or facility code could produce a rejected load, resulting in additional work and slower answers for customers. Eliminating this coordination tax was essential for Werner to deliver the high standard of service their customers expect.

Werner chose Augment to automate their load building workflow because Augie worked directly within Werner’s TMS and drove quantifiable results. Today, Werner reps simply forward tenders to Augie, then Augie reviews them and submits completed orders into the TMS. Augie handles multi-load tenders in one pass. Werner estimates Augie has saved them around three minutes per load build, delivering meaningful time back to their reps.

“With Augment, we can reallocate our team’s time from data entry to more important work,” said Daragh Mahon, Executive Vice President  and Chief Information Officer at Werner. “Every hour Augie returns to a rep becomes an hour spent with a customer. Better customer service turns one-time freight into committed contracts and ultimately stronger growth for our business. ”

Augie also learns Werner's customers, lanes, and processes with every load, so performance continuously improves month over month. If a tender leaves out a detail, Augie emails the rep a question and finishes the build after the answer arrives, learning from each correction over time.

"Werner spent seventy years earning their reputation for service, and they hold those they work with to that same standard," said Harish Abbott, co-founder and CEO of Augment. "They push us to be honest about what works and what needs work, and Augie gets better because of it. We’re excited to help them build their next decade of freight operations.”

For Werner, the collaboration marks the next step in a years-long modernization program that rebuilt their technology stack in the cloud and already scales AI across the operation. Moving forward, Werner will continue to bring Augment the workflows that drain their people's time across the order-to-cash lifecycle. Future plans include using Augie to automate additional workflows across the business.
