Paraform's Talent Density Index ranks companies by the quality of people inside, not capital raised or headcount. Augment landed in the top 25, the only supply chain AI company on the list. Here's what it took to earn it.

When Paraform released their inaugural Talent Density Index — naming Augment one of the most talent-dense tech and AI companies in the world — it meant a lot. Not because of the number. Because of what earning it required.

I've spent much of my career building teams in technology — scaling Deliverr to a $2.1B acquisition, running my own recruiting firm, and now building Augment's team from the ground up. In all that time, I've rarely seen a ranking attempt to measure talent in a way that matters: not how much money a company has raised, or how many people it employs, but how good the people inside actually are.

What is the Talent Density Index?

Paraform sits at the intersection of both sides of hiring — the companies running searches and the candidates they're trying to win. Their algorithm draws on tens of thousands of roles and millions of candidates to answer a historically tricky question: which companies are actually building the best teams?

It measures how coveted a company's employees are in the market, hiring trajectory, domain expertise concentration, and performance signals across their network. In their own words:

"The companies that break from the pack aren't always the ones with the most capital or the best logos in their press releases. They're the ones with the highest density of talent inside the building."

That's the philosophy we've built Augment around.

What sets Augment’s team apart

A few things make this recognition of our team stand out:

  • We're the only supply chain AI company on the list. Augment is the only company bringing AI to supply chain, a sector that’s historically underserved by technology and has struggled to attract top engineers. Being included here is a signal that our mission is changing that.

  • We're one of the youngest companies on the list. Augment emerged from stealth just last year. Most teams in the top 25 have years of hiring history behind their score. We built ours from scratch, fast.

  • We built this on a lean capital base. We raised $110M across a seed and Series A — and the index scores teams, not fundraises. Talent density is a measure of who you hire, not how much you spend to hire them.

  • We earned a top-25 score at ~150 people. Talent density typically gets harder to maintain as a company scales. At 150 people, every hire still moves the needle — and we treat it that way.

We're still hiring

Talent density compounds. At Augment, we’re hiring people who can actually solve the problem — not just people who are impressive on paper. That means we look for two things in parallel: world-class technical depth and strong bias for action.

If you're an engineer, operator, or go-to-market professional who wants to work where the domain is hard, the mission is real, and the team is exceptional — we'd love to talk.
