Overview
Augie already worked in Slack, Microsoft Teams, and Google Chat. Now it also works in ZoomChat. One Zoom account admin approves the app once and Augie becomes available account-wide: direct messages with no @mention required, threaded replies in the channels and group chats it has been added to, and proactive DMs or channel posts it sends on its own. This is a new conduit for Augie's existing capabilities — the same knowledge Q&A, document retrieval, customer service, and escalation workflows customers already run, reachable from a another messaging channel.
Why It Matters
Ops teams standardized on Zoom stop choosing between their messenger and their AI teammate. Augie answers where the work is already being discussed, instead of in another tab.
Rollout is one admin approval, account-wide. No per-user setup, no seat to license, no service account — the IT lift that usually delays a chat rollout largely disappears.
Proactive updates reach reps where they already are. Augie can DM a rep or post into a channel on its own, so exceptions don't wait for someone to check email.
Security reviewers get a clean answer. In channels and group chats Augie responds only when @mentioned and does not passively read channel traffic — a deliberate design decision, not a gap.
How It Works
One Zoom account admin approves the app once; Augie becomes available across the account, with no per-user setup.
DM Augie directly — no @mention needed — and it replies in the same conversation, keeping context across the exchange.
In a channel or group chat, someone adds Augie to that conversation, then @mentions it. Replies land inside the thread of the message that triggered them.
Augie can post into any DM, channel, or group chat in the account without being a member, and can address a proactive DM by email using the cached account directory. When it posts somewhere it can't yet receive replies, it appends a one-line prompt to add it to the conversation.
